A culture different from mine can recognize the powerful dynamic of a father embracing and rearing his child. Usually portrayed as the provider or the disciplinarian, in these pictures we have the rare opportunity of viewing the Black father in the role of guardian and safe-keeper. In image one, there is a father holding his son on his shoulders. This image is set to the background of the sky meeting the ground. The message of this picture is that this Black father will support and uplift his son from now until the end of the earth.
